EindhovenIt is the fifth biggest city in the Netherlands, dynamic and modern. Green and cyclists-friendly, it hosts one of the ten largest modern art collections in the world.
Right in the Van Abbemuseum, built in 1936, one can admire over 1.000 sculptures, 700 paintings and 1.000 works on paper. Inside of it is sheltered one of the most complete collections by El Lissitzky.
Among the collection’s works are masterpieces by Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Wassily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, El Lissitzky, Fernand Léger and Piet Mondrian, just to mention a few.
The city is one of the bycicle’s capitals, with hundreds of miles of cycling lanes. Renting a bike is exactly the best way to visit it.
The city is lively at night, too, especially in Markt square, where the market takes place, and in the central streets like Stratumseind, Dommelstraat and Wilhelminaplein.
